Preflight vs File Prep

AIMedia's Courtesy Preflight Includes:

1. We check to be sure art is set to template correctly
2. We check to be sure fonts are supplied or if not, that they were outlined before submission
3. We check to be sure all images are not submitted as RGB
4. We check to be sure that black text is 100% black and set to overprint in cases where that is appropriate
5. We check overall layout

We do this preflight check as a courtesy for the customer because we want to be sure your product prints with the best quality possible.

Thirty minutes of preflight is built into every project. This accounts for the time to check the above list and make any final pre-press adjustments. If we find that corrections need to be made, we notify the client to make them aware that processing the art a second time will incur graphics fees. Please note that your project is on hold from this point until corrections are made and could affect your delivery date. Ultimately, we expect the client to submit all artwork ready for press as outlined in our Preflight Checklist. All corrections, editing, and revisions, should be made before submitting to AIM graphics. While we are happy to assist in any way we can, we have many projects flowing through our office and if we have to open a project a second time, we have to put another project on hold to make these revisions. AIMedia's File Prep and Polishing Includes:

1. We preflight your project, making note of changes and revisions needed
2. We run spell check on layouts for editable text (excludes logos, photoshop files or other picture elements)
3. We complete these revisions bringing your files to pre-press specs
4. We provide high quality PDF Proofs with embedded ICC color profiles
5. We correct up to three changes to proof your project
6. We can provide an EPSON color accurate proof once the the project is ready to go to press (provide 2 days in your project schedule for overnight FedEx transit), if you choose not to receive an EPSON proof, we run all standard projects to Standard Print Densities

Our file preparation service is offered as a service. Please talk with your sales representative in order to schedule this into your project. If you do not have access to your original designer, or you have not prepared your files to our Prepress Checklist, you may need to have this service added to your project.

Billing and Free of Charge services:

Preflight is the free overall check of the files for your project. Preflight is same day if the files are supplied in our "working" file classified templates. Any and all changes will require an email or phone contact and approval for applicable charges.
